NHS scam texts in the UK
Updated 2026-05-02
Scammers send messages claiming to be from the NHS — about vaccines, COVID tests, dental rebates, or 'eligibility for a payment'. The link leads to a phishing site that harvests your name, address, date of birth, and bank details.
What real NHS messages look like
Genuine NHS texts come from 'NHS' or 'NHSnoreply' and never ask for bank or card details. The NHS will never charge for vaccines, tests, or appointments.
Why ID data matters more than money
The personal information harvested is often more valuable than any direct charge — it's used for synthetic identity fraud, taking out loans, mobile contracts, and credit cards in your name.
